Ministry Focus
Receive warm greetings from the Armenta family and the Baptist Church 'Gethsemane' in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Recognizing the need for a Hispanic church with sound doctrine, Humberto and Veronica have started a ministry within the American church 'Baptist Sovereign Grace' in Rio Rico, Arizona, where they have begun preaching. One of their goals is to establish new Hispanic congregations in the U.S. and train pastors to organize churches biblically. God willing, they aim to encourage pastors in the Arizona area to prepare by attending the Seminary in Nogales, Sonora, focusing on expository preaching so they may preach with power, passion, and precision.
Faith Story
After being married for eight years, Humberto and Veronica’s eldest daughter asked them the most important question they’ve ever been asked in their life: “Who is God?” A question Humberto couldn’t answer at the time, as he had not yet come to know their Savior Jesus Christ. Following this, he began seeking the Lord with the intention of truly knowing Him. Humberto and his wife joined the Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana de Dallas, TX, where they were converted through a sermon on John 4 (the story of the Samaritan woman). This occurred in 2001, and after being baptized, they began serving the Lord together as a family.
After studying at the Nogales Sonora Seminary (SEBANO) from 2013–2017, he was invited to serve at Iglesia Bautista Getsemaní in Nogales, Sonora, where he continues to work (2017–2025). Humberto and Veronica have since expanded their ministry to the U.S., collaborating with local churches alongside one of the church elders, Ramon Rodriguez, who introduced them to Missions Door.
Family
Humberto is a husband and father. His family consists of his wife Veronica, their eldest daughter Carmin (who currently lives in Sebano serving with her husband, Pastor Manuel Morales), and their two grandchildren: Emanuel and Levi. Their son Kalvin, who is also married, and Carlos, the youngest son, who is still single. They all serve together in the ministry.

Humberto graduated from SEBANO (2013–2017) with a Bachelor’s in Theology.

- Chef by profession and a builder with 20 years of experience—skills he uses for the Lord’s work and missions.

Iconic American traditions include Thanksgiving dinner, jazz music and the Super Bowl. They meld with eclectic examples of multicultural heritage: numerous local Chinatowns, family-owned taquerias and even cowboy boots, which originated among the nomadic Huns of eastern Europe.
The nation's landscape shows just as many contrasts — sandy beaches and rocky coastlines, open plains and vast deserts, rugged mountains and winding canyons, and abundant rivers and lakes.
The ideals of life and liberty that founded the United States have made the country one of the world's most prosperous, though not without dark chapters and present troubles. Crime, discrimination and ethics violations make regular headlines, and many people live below the national poverty level.
Families view education as essential to the pursuit of happiness, if not also a path to wealth and power for the most ambitious. Yet Americans also demonstrate a charitable spirit of generosity toward neighbors and nations in need.
Freedom of religion grants opportunity for all faiths, but Christianity holds particular influence in country's history and daily life.
Your participation with Missions Door supports ministry in the United States among college students, including many international students, in collaboration local churches. It also enables social outreach, church planting and leadership development in a wide variety of communities — among Native Americans and other cultural groups, and in urban and suburban settings where growing and changing demographics create new opportunities for the Gospel.
Cultural Snapshot
Aside from the Native American, Native Hawaiian and Native Alaskan populations, nearly all Americans and their ancestors immigrated to the United States.
