Ministry Focus
Elohim was appointed with Missions Door in 2006 serving with Campus Ambassadors in Hermosillo, Mexico. Elohim and Karla’s vision is to inspire a “Generation with Direction” and to see an entire generation living according to the Bible and fulfilling God's redemptive purposes for the world. The University of Sonora Hermosillo Campus has over 29,000 students. Elohim has found that students are open to talking about spirituality, but the challenge is developing a deep desire to know and follow Jesus Christ. With some friends Elohim and Karla started a church in September 2022 and they gather in houses and partner together in the campus ministry. Elohim and Karla seek to develop a culturally relevant community of students who are being transformed by the love of God and who extend the Kingdom of God by serving others.
Faith Story
Elohim was born in Mazatlan, Sinaloa and at age six, he and his parents moved to Tijuana. In 1987, with his mother’s guidance, Elohim accepted Christ as his personal Savior. Elohim wanted to be a civil engineer, but he knew that even in achieving his personal goals, he still lacked something and was questioning his purpose. The truths of the Bible that had been part of his life for so many years finally began to make sense. He realized he needed guidance, but he could not find a ministry resource for youth. This ministry need soon became a burden that developed his interest in serving young people. At the age of 18, after graduating from high school, he was convinced of God's call for his life. In 2000, with the support of his parents, his pastor and his church, Elohim moved to Nogales, Mexico to study at Nogales Baptist Seminary (SEBANO) and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Theology.

Today's traditions blend Spanish influence since the 1500s with the heritage of ancient civilizations that flourished in Mexico for thousands of years prior.
Sunny beaches and turquoise waters of Baja California and Cancún bring thousands of tourists each year. And amid a combination of historic and modern architecture, Mexico City's 20 million residents make it one of the most populated urban centers in the world.
At the heart of every Mexican city lies the zócalo, or central public square, that invites community interaction. In contrast, plastered walls often surround affluent homes to provide protection and symbolize the importance of family in Mexican society.
The country has one of the world’s largest economies, driven significantly by manufacturing, and is the world’s largest producer of silver. But high rates of unemployment and crime make it hard for many households to earn enough income.
