FIELD

Oscar was ordained to ministry in 1985 and has served the Lord faithfully in Honduras for over twenty years.

He filled the role of pastor from 1978 to 1985 for La Union Baptist Church in Olancho (Iglesia Bautista La Union Olancho), and then as a teacher at the Baptist Church of Tela, Atlántida (Iglesia Bautista de Tela, Atlántida) from 1992 to 2006.

Oscar was appointed by Missions Door as the Regional Director of the Honduran Extension Bible Institute under the supervision of Pastor Humberto Del Arca in 2006 over the Atlántida, Olancho, Progreso, Villa Nueva, Cortez area where he supervises 15 churches.

As Regional Director, Oscar oversees and represents the Conservative Baptist churches of his region, and promotes the vision to plant new churches using the principles of church-planting-by-extension — recruiting, discipling and training church planters.

FAITH

Oscar grew up in a Catholic family in the community of El Vallecito, Department of Olancho. He accepted Christ as his Savior after listening to a pastor in Olancho preach the gospel in 1974. He was baptized on April 25, 1975.

His wife, Teodora, accepted the Lord in 1978. She has been very active in women’s groups and has taught discipleship groups in Jocón, Colón, Olancho and Atlántida since then.

FAMILY

Oscar and Teodora married in 1974 and were blessed with six children: Carmen, Sandra, Lilian, Karla, Nora and Oscar.
