FIELD

Jake’s family traveled all over the U.S., which made it hard for him to form good Christian friendships. For the first time in his life, because of Campus Ambassadors, he is surrounded by faithful Christians and is now forming some awesome and lasting friendships

"Campus Ambassadors is so fulfilling for me and an awesome way to share my faith and be a witness to thousands of college kids. I’ve worked other jobs but they don’t really fulfill me. I need to be able to share my faith openly. Life to me just seems so pointless if I can’t share my faith.”

Chrissy has been attending Campus Ambassadors meetings since December of her 11th-grade year of high school. Wanting to take more of a leadership role in the group, a few weeks into her freshman college year she applied with Missions Door and was appointed as an intern. She is excited about her role in reaching the countless unsaved students and is looking forward to opportunities to mentor those around her.

"In coming to Camus Ambassadors I found that I had been extremely blessed in my upbringing.  I was asked and encouraged to begin mentoring and it really changed my life.  It taught me that spiritual gifts don’t always have to be inside the box, and that it’s not so much what you know, but instead how you live your life that is going to impact the most people.”

FAITH

Jake grew up in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. His family never had a lot of money, but his parents always found ways to provide in times of hardship and this really gave Jake a heart for the poor and for challenging people to live simply.

When Jake started going to Campus Ambassadors he absolutely fell in love with Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and that’s where he learned to have a personal relationship with Him and that it wasn’t about legalism. He started to realize that life isn’t black and white.

Chrissy personally accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 8, during an altar call at a Christian camp, after realizing that she did not possess any abilities outside of God’s grace. She made the decision that she wanted to “be a credit to God’s name.”

Jake sums it up this way, "I now realize that it’s not so much about following rules perfectly and making sure I don’t screw up. It’s about falling in love with God everyday over and over. It’s about screwing up everyday and realizing our faults and taking our faults to God and most of all learning from those faults."

FAMILY

Jake and Chrissy were both raised in loving Christian homes. They met at Calvary Baptist Church of LeRoy in the fall of 2003 and the rest is history. They were joined in marriage on June 6, 2009.
